On October 29, 2024, the worst flood to hit Spain in decades caused severe destruction, killed more than 200 people, destroyed homes, and covered the region of Valencia in water, mud, and debris. Today, a major restoration process is underway to ensure the affected people can return to normal life.

 

Following the devastating floods in Valencia, Spain, Nilfisk partnered with the NGO Fundación Altius to support the Valencian people. Nilfisk donated a large assortment of cleaning machines to help affected communities with the cleanup that Fundación Altius distributed in the region.

We are committed to supporting the local communities by providing products that can help with the massive cleanup task awaiting them,” says Executive Vice President and CMO of Nilfisk, Camilla Ramby.

 

On November 19, Fundación Altius’ humanitarian center in Valencia received a truck loaded with wet and dry vacuums from Nilfisk to remove dirt and other wet debris, high-pressure washers to sanitize surfaces, unclog drains, restore vehicles, and other household equipment. Amongst other humanitarian aid supplies handed out at the center, this cleaning equipment was donated to people who needed to restore their homes.

 

Since the floods hit, the NGO Fundación Altius has launched a series of initiatives to help those affected and has opened a humanitarian center in Valencia run by volunteers who handles the distribution of the Nilfisk cleaning equipment.
